THE THAI EXPERIENCE OVERNIGHTER and ECO DAY TRIP - KOH LONE
Koh Lone is just within a stone's throw from Phuket. It is a whole different world, there are no cars and no dogs. It has a small community of roughly 200 persons. There is a school and a small clinic. The locals farm and fish, they welcome you warmly and keep their island surprisingly neat and clean. The locals live on the (flat) plateau near the beach, and there are a few narrow concrete paths.
A day or an overnight trip gives you all the possibilities to sail as long as you want in a comfortable way and also explore the island. Lone island lies right in the centre of a beautiful and protected sailing area just south off Phuket with many other islands, good for snorkeling, trekking, relaxing and exploring. And, very important... good food just at hand!
In a daytrip we visit Koh Lone for lunch at a spacious garden of Moo's home stay.
For an overnighter you can either stay at Moo's home stay, which gives you a lovely Thai experience!
Or in a luxurious boutique resort, Baan Mai Cottages with massages in sala's on the beach.
On the island you can go for short walks on the paths and/or on a longer jungle walk with a guide.
You'll see where they get the wild honey, where rubber comes from, their variety of tropical fruits, the everyday migrating fruit bats, the school and all the way over the hill splendid views and a big secluded bay. You can fish with the locals at night or have a swim and a drink in the garden. You'll be out of this world!

Koh Lone is a Muslim island, they don’t appreciate topless bathing and they don’t serve alcohol.
But… at the resort next to Moo's home stay you can have alcoholic drinks and with the drinks use their lovely swimming pool, if you ask them nicely. |
