We have been running trips all over
south Thailand since 1989 and Tarutou since 1992. All of our guides
are trained naturalists and are all from the South of Thailand.
They know the Jungle plants and wildlife like no others.
| *We have developed our own
trip to teach you about survival in The South of Thailand's
Islands and Jungle. |
| *Our four day program includes: |
| *Fishing with nets, lines,
traps and naturally with no equipment. |
| *Jungle trekking to show
the edible plants and fruits found there and a variety of
other uses. There are over 300 known species of fruit found
in South Thailand. We challenge you to name 30 fruits. |
| *Learning how to cook the
food that we find. |
| *Tracking-how to look for
animal tracks and where to find animals(we do not hunt or
trap wildlife). |
| *Shelter is also important
and we will show you how to build your shelter from your surroundings. |
| *Water, where to find safe
drinking water. |
| *Safety. Basic medical and
safety rules. Dangerous animals and plants of the area. |
| *You will stay at a beach
camp with toilet and shower facilities. Food will be of the
usual Sea Canoe high standards and where possible we will
cook some of the Jungle foods that we find whilst trekking. |
|
The Next
Stage.
|
- Are you game enough to take the Sea Canoe Survival Challenge?
|
- Length of time depends upon group size and the time
you have. We can do anywhere between 2 days to 14 days,
depending upon your requirements.
|
- You will have to survive on a deserted beach/jungle
on your own (assited by our guides) with the skills that
you have learnt. You will recieve basic survival tools
but the rest is up to you. It will be run with SeaCanoe's
usual brand of fun and adventure.

Safety
|
|
Your safety is important to us and we
will have people trained in first aid on standby and a boat
to take you to the mainland if anything happens. Fresh drinking
water will be provided as dehydration in the tropics can
be quite common.
